PREVALENCE OF SOIL TRANSMITTED HELMINTHS (STH) INFECTION WITH SIMPLE DYEING TECHNIQUES IN SIDOREJO 202 SDN SIDOARJO DISTRICT Magdalena Arini Meylina Advisor: Acivrida Mega Charisma, S.Si., M.Sc. ABSTACT Worm infections are a health problem that is still widely found. Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 1.5 billion people or 24% of the world's population are infected with Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH). The Soil Transmitted Helminth Egg is removed along with the feces of an infected person. Areas that do not have adequate sanitation, these eggs can pollute the soil and most attack primary school children (SD). The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of STH with simple staining techniques at SDN Sidorejo 202 Sidoarjo Regency. This study is a descriptive analytic analytic study with a cross-sectional approach to assess the prevalence of diseases caused by infection with Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) in elementary school children. Based on the research conducted it can be concluded that the prevalence of STH with simple staining technique in SDN Sidorejo 202 is 7 samples or as much as 32% and the negative STH is 15 people or about 68%. In the sex distribution, it was found that the percentage of worm infections in women was greater, namely 36%, than men 27%.
