Abstract
POTENSI NANOEMULSI MINYAK LENGKUAS (Alpinia galanga [L.] Willd. ) DALAM MENCEGAH PENEMPELAN SEL PLANKTONIK PEMBENTUK BIOFILM DARI Escherichia coli PENGHASIL Extended Spectrum ß-Lactamases (ESBLS) Kharisma Aprilia Pratiwi Email : [email protected] ABSTRACT Escherichia coli is a bacteria that is capable of being a pathogen and causing antibiotic resistance. The formation of E. coli biofilms can cause health problems. In this study, Galangal oil have been investigated to know the antibacterial activity. The galangal oil used was formulated with tween 80 and Span 80 with a Sonifier 40% amplitude for 10 minutes to form the size of the nanoemulsion. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of galangal oil nanoemulsion on biofilm formation in vitro, namely the activity of prevention of biofilm formation. This study uses the Microplate Assay method. The sample used was E. coli producing Extended Spectrum B-Lactamases (ESBLS) which is a collection of Labratorium Microbiology and Biotechnology STIKES of Anwar Medika Hospital. Nanoemulsion of galangal oil was used with a series of concentrations of 90 mg/ml, 45 mg/ml, 22.5 mg/ml, and 11.2 mg/ml, negative control, and positive control. Measurement of biofilm formation was carried out using Microplate Reader and the results were absorbance values (OD 595 nm). The results of the manufacture of this galangal oil nanoemulsion which was made and analyzed by Particle Size Analysis (PSA) droplet size was 124,95 x 10 3 nm. The results of this biofilm curve are produced by OD values which are increasingly increasing. Test the potential for preventing planktonic formation of biofilm formation on galangal oil nanoemulsion with a concentration series of 90 mg/ml, 45 mg/ml, 22.5 mg/ ml, and 11.2 mg/ml. The best concentration of 45 mg/ml in all E. coli isolates was 70%, 44%, 60%, and 71%. Results p-value 0.028 ≤ 0.05, there are differences in variations in concentration with bacterial isolates used. Keywords : Escherichia coli , Biofilm, Extended Spectrum ßLactamases (ESBLs) and galangal oil
