Abstract
PREVALENCE WORM EGGS OF NEMATODE INTESTINAL (SOIL TRANSMITTED HELMINTH) WITH WET PREPARATION METHOD (IODINE SOLUTION) IN STUDENTS SDN BARENGKRAJAN II KRIAN, SIDOARJO Primastri Surya Afandi Email : [email protected] ABSTRACT The diseases has a big impact on the quality of human resources, but this disease does not get much attention from the public. It is among them intestinal worms that are a health problem are groups Soil Transmitted Helminths or worms that are transmitted through the soil, such as Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura, Hookworm (Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus) and Strongiyloides stercoralis. The difference in place causes different prevalence, which is between <1% to> 90%. This study aims to determine the presence of worm eggs in Barengkrajan II Krian Elementary School. This research is a description research with Descriptive Obervational analytic design which is a research which describes a situation objectively without knowing the cause and effect. Respondents were selected through the Random sampling technique in all grades 3 elementary school to grade 5 elementary school which met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The number of samples of this study were 25 people from elementary school children in grade III, class IV and class V. In this study, obtained 6 children found only Ascaris lumbricoides worm eggs and Trichuris trichiura worm eggs and Hookworm worm eggs were not found. Children infected with STH were most commonly found in girls age > 9 years (66.67%) while in boys age > 9 years (33.33%). The results is obtained, it can be concluded that the students of SDN Barengkrajan II were heavily infected with Ascaris lumbricoides worms than other STH species.
